While there are some excellent illustrators out there, I prefer to leave appearances to the reader's imagination guided by the text. Human faces, in particular, always look like some other guy and not the one they meant, to me. (And in my case, drawing illustrations for my own books is not a good idea unless abstract mood accompaniments count as illustrations.)
