Turbinator: Salvation

Timprov's turbinates are a shadow of their former selves, as is his uvula, and his tonsils are gone. While he does not appear to be in any danger of injuring himself leaping about and frolicking any time soon, the surgery itself went about as well as such a thing could be expected to go--better, in fact. "This is the fastest we've ever discharged a tonsilectomy patient!" one of the nurses kept repeating.

There is still the recovery to get through, and swallowing is not the most fun he's ever had. But to start with the procedure going well: hurrah! Onwards! Wiktory!

And on a much more trivial level: so glad to be out of that freezing cold hospital I can hardly tell you. It is in the 80s here today on the Fahrenheit scale. I was wearing wool socks and jeans and a shirt and a hoodie, and I kept putting my hands on [livejournal.com profile] markgritter's laptop to warm them, because you could hang meat in the family lounge of that hospital. Uff da.

Neato, thanks. Hope you're feeling better!

(I giggle at the size differential. M'ris looks so tiny, but hear her rawr!)

Do hear me rawr!

I'm 5'6", though, so adjust your mental image of my smallitude or the guys' bigitude accordingly. Our furniture was chosen on the assumption that I would be the shortest person to sit on it regularly, so it manages to fit all of us. (My mom and grandma are both also 5'6", and Grandpa was, so I'm not the only person my height we were planning for. Still, when [livejournal.com profile] dlandon or [livejournal.com profile] pameladean come over, they need extra cushions or they need to curl their legs up.)

Wow--you definitely look shorter next to the guys, hehe. 5'2" over here, down near the floor. :D But I suspect Scandosotan genes are generally taller than Asian ones.

And since you live Out East instead of in the Upper Midwest, I figured you weren't used to looking at pictures of men and estimating heights above six feet.

When we lived in California, I could never lose [livejournal.com profile] markgritter or Timprov in a crowd, because they always stuck out above it. Here, I had to readjust.

Every time Mark takes a picture of himself at his desk, I get the impression that he is like 5'8" [sitting, hunched to view his cam]. He's definitely more viking when he is standing up.

You should see his "little" brother go from sitting-and-slouching to standing full up. Eep.
