You know what day it is.
Miss Ista is sitting on my lap, wrapped in her binky. She was a little carsick on the drive home, but she's otherwise doing well, and so are the rest of us about her (though we're not the healthiest lot in the world right now:
timprov is having one of his bad days, and I seem to have caught
markgritter's cold -- but in terms of having the puppy, we're dandy).
markgritter took some pictures, but I'm not going to get them up yet tonight. Still, take my word for it: I have a puppy. Right here. Right now.
Cool.
Cool.

Congratulations to Ista on her new people. I'm sure they will turn out to be the finest people in the whole world.

Still delighted over the name, too.

What I don't know is the rest of her name. She has an AKC registry to send in, so she needs a middle name of some sort. So far

Re: !
My old dog, when she was an old dog, was a most excellent Nurse Puppy. She would sit with whoever was sick and occasionally lick their hand. Sometimes, if it seemed necessary, she would place her 9# bulk on whoever was sick, to hold them down. Miss Ista is not nearly settled enough to serve in that role, but I'm not nearly sick enough to need it.

Is the proper term for Miss Ista a chocolate poodle, given her coloring?

Yes, I realize that she is neither silver nor beige. I'd say, "Discuss," but actually she will turn a silvery pale brown color once she's older. The breeder wanted to be very clear with us that we were not buying a brown poodle.
