Home things, part two.

Okay, people: give me a single word for "home" or related to "home." A list of single words is fine, but more like "rest" than "place to rest," you see what I mean?

I am screening comments here in case someone wants to get sappy and ruin their toughbeing persona, or else wants to get conflicted and doesn't want to be public about it.

I'm curious about everyone else's answers now. I expect 'hearth' showed up a lot, but beyond that, I don't know how other people think.
You ask very interesting questions.

I'm glad you think so! Nobody who answered (so far, I suppose) seemed particularly conflicted -- there was not a lot of "work" or "mess." I will eventually write a hard SF piece called "Eleven Names for Home," so I already had a page of brainstorming. Some stuff will come out in that. I don't feel comfortable unscreening once I said I'd screen, but a lot of people are going with answers similar to "refuge" and "comfort."

You picked 'home'. Home itself has the pleasant connotation-- making a house a home and all that. I didn't mean to ask for unscreening, just the sort of information you've given.
