Oh, yeah. I almost forgot.

In the context of another thing completely, a friend just asked me how things were around here. And I had to stop and think, and you know what? They're pretty good, thanks for asking.

I just thought I'd say.

And how are you?

[identity profile] kendwoods.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 06:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Really good thanks.

:-)

I'm huntin' glögg recipes. You don't happen to have a good glögg recipe you'd like to share, do you?

[identity profile] mrissa.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Alas, but I come from a not very glöggy branch of that type of family. Do say if you find anything really good, though.

[identity profile] kendwoods.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 06:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I will!

I haven't had any since my college days. Hadn't even thought of it in years.

Then all of a sudden there it was, the thought "I could really go for some glögg right about now."

Strange are the ways of my brain.

What's glogg? It sounds like onomatopoeia for pouring out of a large jar of salsa.

[identity profile] kendwoods.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Scandinavian mulled wine. The version I had a long time ago was made with red wine, though apparently you can use things like brandy and cognac also.

Quite pleased, for reasons documented on my LJ.

Also, I may ask you for lefse-making advice this year. But not until closer to Christmas.

[identity profile] mrissa.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I am full of lefse-making advice.

If anyone ever tells you, "Mris is full of it," you may know that "it" is "lefse-making advice."

[identity profile] swan-tower.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
. . . riiiiight.

[identity profile] the-flea-king.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't had an attack in over a week. And I have new drug instructions. If I get through MileHiCon this weekend without an attack, I am going to say "Good!"

[identity profile] mrissa.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I will, too!

[identity profile] skwirly.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I am radiator-free!

Also radiation-free, as far as I know.

[identity profile] mrissa.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Nobody is radiation-free! But not unduly radiation-endowed is good.

I'm not sure how I'd feel about being radiator-free this time of year, if I had that kind of furnace....

[identity profile] skwirly.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"Radiation-endowed" is sort of an alarming prospect, but I think that's because I've been reading too many romance novels lately. Glowing-- never mind.

As for the furnace, we are in blissful possession of a real live working heat pump (finally), with vents and returns and everything. (There are a lot more exclamation points about this in my head, because it's taken FOUR MONTHS to get installed.) So the radiators are finally gone, gone, gone, and it's definitely a good thing.

Ah! That is good. Glad to hear it.

I'm within an hour or so of having the Editing Project of Doom uploaded to the publisher! In the face of that, being sleepy, hungry, and a bit sniffly pale into insigificance

[identity profile] mrissa.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
That's just it: it's not that there's nothing to complain about. The oven, for example, is being non-linearly wacko, and wackiness is generally not wanted from the oven. It's just that the things that are not to be complained about far outweigh them.

groggy, very groggy. everything is amplified, and too bright, and i want to sleep for 16 hours. but i'm SO HAPPY to be home i can't even tell you, even though i had a great time.

[identity profile] mrissa.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm so glad you could go, too.

In general, excellent. I don't think things could get more excellent, really. Happy happy joy joy. Many good and shiny things in my life.

Today, however, has sucked mightily. The least annoying thing about today is that I just got home from getting a cavity filled.

[identity profile] angeyja.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Making progress. :-)

[identity profile] dsgood.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Mixed, but generally good.

My cat allergy is gone, which is good since I'm now living with two of them. Usually nice being around them again. However, I've recently learned that it's possible for a cat to knock over a dresser.

!!!

[identity profile] aszanoni.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
That is a mighty cat.

The dresser getting knocked down reminds me of the Rat King. Who was not a cat, nor a rat, but managed to knock over a Christmas tree one Christmas Eve. Poor little distressed mouse!

Congrats on lacking the cat allergy. :>

Pretty good here as well: I may be slightly overcommitted for next week, but the commitments that aren't actively enjoyable are sensible (there's a medical appointment in there, utterly routine). My boss is saying nice things about me, my partners are their usual excellent selves, I expect to see [livejournal.com profile] roadnotes this weekend, and a certain Minnesotan keeps sending me cool email.

[identity profile] mrissa.livejournal.com 2007-10-24 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
I hope the overcommitment works out anyway, and thanks!

Either insane or pleasingly adventurous, depending on how rested I am when looking at it. Interesting, sometmes in a good way and sometimes in the Chinese sense. Mostly not bad except for the whole uncle thing (and thank you for the comment on that).

Busy, but pretty good.
