Two rejections. And I will still never sell another word of fiction again in my life, apparently. This is not the sort of thing that gets better with more time, is what.

My neck went out this morning, just in time to do the six-hour ride back. [livejournal.com profile] markgritter ended up doing all the driving because I have about a 40-degree range of motion in my neck right now, and that's not really enough to drive very safely. So I'm calling the chiropractor first thing tomorrow morning, because my basic stuff-doing abilities are currently compromised. I'll have a book report tomorrow at the very least, and also a free books offering. In the meantime, I'm going to dig up something to read and go sit somewhere comfortable.

My chiropractor showed me a neat little trick that really helps with my neck. Take a towel and fold it lengthwise about four times. It should make a narrow sling. This requires the aid of someone else. What you do is lay down. Take the towel and situate it under the process at the base of your skull. Your partner grasps the towel and snugs it up tight to your head. It should flatten your ears and you should only be able to see a little triangle of light when he's holding it. He holds the towel together right over your nose and then gentle rocks back and forth, lifting occasionally. This is all done very gently. My neck has gone back in with a cartilage-grinding pop and felt much better and it has also just been gently stretched, unpinching whatever was pinched. My doctor claims that it's a very safe technique. He also said that steady traction is more dangerous and that yanking, of course, is not good.

Works for me. Hope it helps you.

Thank you! Even if it doesn't work, it sounds gentle and worth a try.
