I think there's a school of thought that says if you believe in one God you're a Unitarian by definition, as the name says. So you may already qualify, anyway. Besides, they need some more people to vote against the agressive hugging.

Of course, where I learned how to be UU, we weren't allowed to call it "church" or drop off "Universalist" from the designation. But not all congregations care so much about these things.

You don't have to be a Unitarian to be a Unitarian, as long as you don't tell anybody else what to think. Unless they ask you to, repeatedly, in a panicky way.

I am reminded of the title-claiming that went on in the wake of the publication of Good Omens, in which everybody was becoming all the minor horsemen of the apocalypse. "I'm Waitresses Who Ask You How Everything is When You Have Your Mouth Full!" I think I'm the Handgun of Thinking it Over.

I think that's a habit I picked up in California, automatically pointing out what is and isn't vegan-friendly (and making sure something always was). It doesn't seem out of place in our social circles here, though. Sometimes I have the whole litany in my head: "And that one's vegan-friendly, and that one's not safe for people with nut allergies, and that one's got wheat products in it...."

Yah, and I usually like figuring out alternatives (and I often volunteer for the veggie dish just to ensure there's one *I* like, since I'm fussier about them than desserts (too much sugar, I can deal. Too much vinegar or mayo, not so well).
