Chapter One

And they all died fiery deaths.

THE END

There, now, wasn't that easier?

Don't mind me, I'm just tired and daunted.

And this is my new random silliness icon: M'ris With Stone Hippo Rampant. (I'm picking through old photos for icons when I have the chance. I have 100 of them, I might as well enjoy some.)

Should have sent that to Twenty Epics when you had the chance.

It's a departure from my main body of work. Usually people die icy deaths.

You beat me to it. I was going to say "no, not fiery deaths, icy deaths! like the winter olympics potential!"

Every once in awhile you have to make sure your work doesn't get stale.

With apologies to RF

Mris says the book will end in fire,
M Kille says in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with Mris's chosen fire.
But if the book were written twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To know that for a sequel ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

And yet I know you're not the [livejournal.com profile] timprov in disguise. How strange.

Be thou not daunted.

I just went through THERMIONIC NIGHT for the third time.

I *still* have about nothing to say for the last eight chapters except. WOW. WOW. WOW.

And oh, right-- when do I get to see SAMPO?

I like it!

Say, where can a Flew find a copy of Thermionic Night?

You know...

if you were to submit that as an SF poem, someone somewhere would publish it...

(I'm in an ellipsistical mood today...)...

I have a pic of me and Bri at the Memphis Zoo. I have my arm around a statue of Sekhmet, and Bri is sitting at my feet playing with the kitty cats in the statue. Cute icon. Love it. Makes me think happy things.

A bold departure from "Everyone is run over by a truck."

And yet getting the first eight chapters up to that standard is what's before me now.

Apparently [livejournal.com profile] porphyrins like when bits of iceberg break off and crash into the ocean? Because that's what it felt like to write the last chapters.

And I know you're partly just bugging, but here's when you get to see Sampo: when:
1) I've finished the first set of revisions to TN and
2) sent it to beta readers who give me suggestions so I can
3) finish the second set of revisions to TN and
4) send it out so it's out of my hair so I can
5) revise Sampo into some coherence.

I will ask for beta readers as soon as I'm ready for them. Really. [livejournal.com profile] porphyrin can comment on the last chapters because she was one of four alpha readers, subjected to horrors the rest of you mortals were not put through.

For CUTE! She's so little! I mean, not that she's huge now, but: teeny toddler Bri!

I'm not big on trucks. Too butch for me. And "everyone was run over by a fuel-efficient sedan" just doesn't have that ring to it.

"I'm going to crash my Slowmobile!"

Thanks; now you've got the song from the "How Hermes Requisitioned His Groove Back" episode of Futurama in my head. "They pooh-poohed my electric frankfurter...."
