I'm home, and [livejournal.com profile] markgritter has picked up my T3 prescription, so as soon as I can have some more of my lovely blueberry soup (a little over an hour from now), I will take some T3 and eat some blueberry soup and take this wad of gauze out of my mouth.

Not the most fun I've ever had, but quite tolerable. So far the smell was the worst of it, although the novocaine is wearing off, and everything is starting to throb. The bottom one had roots that hooked out into the bone in opposite directions, so the pressure: wheeee-ooh.

I like my dentist. You only have to tell him something once, and you don't even have to emphasize it, and he remembers.

Apparently, though, they're not especially keen on hypoglycemics around there. He made me drink a lot of orange juice before he would even start.

I may have to go through this for my top right one in July. We'll see. But the left ones are gone.

Thanks for posting; I was wondering how it went. Home is good. Blueberry soup is good.

How odd an idea, that there are detached Mrissa-bits loose in the world. Though I suppose that applies as well to hair and nail clippings, as in sympathetic. Still, seems odder when it's something not originally meant to detach. I suppose hospitals just dispose of old teeth and tonsils and appendices and gallbladders.

Glad you're not feeling too bad.

I can send some of the blueberry soup home with [livejournal.com profile] dd_b and [livejournal.com profile] lydy for you, you know.

I shed enough hair -- it's long, so it's visible -- that anyone wanting to work magics of that nature on me would be amply supplied, and I couldn't do a "Gattaca" for love nor money.

The novocaine is wearing off, and the T3 is kicking in slowly-ish, so...yeah. Not the best time just now.

Glad to hear you made it through! (I got to bring my wisdom teeth home from the dentist's, but I eventually tossed them. It's not like one can bring them out during dinner parties to get the conversation going--well, not unless one is a ten-year-old at heart.)

You made it!

I will spare you stories of my own extractions.

Glad it's gone well so far.

Did they give you a quasi-hypodermic to clean out the holes they left in your gums? My dentist gave me one when they took out my bottom teeth. It was both an exceedingly creepy device and a wonderfully gross toy for watergun/balloon fights, though I lost or threw it away at some point, which is probably for the best.

You made it! Yay! I thought of you this week, because I had a laparoscopy on Monday, and had similar feelings about it as you did about your wisdom tooth extraction. We both made it through in one piece, though. I have a confession to make. When I woke up from anaesthesia, I decided I was ready to get up, get dressed and get out of there. As I sat up, I noticed the last blood pressure reading was 79/50 and I felt lightheaded, and I kept it to myself. Hee. I remembered about the last time, when they made me lie down forever. So I just sat there, stalling, until it went away. Tip from one fainter to another. Shhhh...

No quasi-hypodermic for me. They did sew me shut again, though.

Yep, sometimes it's better just to stall. I'd rather have the dentist paranoid about it than not tell him, though.
