Likes and dislikes, the yard version

I really like mowing over dandelions and clover with our little reel mower. Whee! The blossoms go flying. Heehee! Whee!

However, it kind of ruins the noise and allergen advantages of a reel mower when the next-door neighbors' lawn service shows up and starts riding a lawn tractor around in the area adjacent to one's mowing. I'm sure the guy riding it had ear plugs. I did not.

The squirrels threw/dropped things at me to try to get me to stop mowing under their favorite tree. The chipmunks hid in the drain pipe, making echoing squeaky noises in there. I like the chipmunks. I do not like the squirrrrrrrs. ("And they pee, you see." Have I told everyone that story? Oh, probably.)

I am going to get destinkified and dressed, and then I'll be running a bazillion errands, some of them even fun, and then Mark and I will leave for Omaha to spend some time with my folks and grands. We'll return Monday in time for some Taste of Minnesota goodness. I'll have e-mail and internet access in the meantime, but I probably won't spend a heck of a lot of time on it.
