Saturday morning early

Those of you who haven't gotten your meme about you yet: I'm still doing them. I'll get there. It just takes me awhile to sift through what I want to say.

Project from yesterday proceeds apace. Back fixing...not as thorough as one might hope. It was a new person, and I don't think I'll be going back to her. She wasn't bad per se, but I think she was more there for people who want a pleasant backrub than people who want nasty knots efficiently removed from their back. If I want a pleasant backrub, I don't pay money for it, generally. But I'm enough better that I'm not feeling like throwing up when I turn my head to the left or think about eating. Progress!

Week of January 7-13

Four rejections. Yep, the editors are back from their holidays. One of them was a novel rejection. All novel rejections are bad. I mean, in the grand scheme of things of course some of them are good, and we all want to work with someone who's enthusiastic about our book and la la sanity sanity. But short story rejections are weather. Novel rejections are "severe" weather. But one goes on, one queries again, one thinks about other things.

Um. I was doing pretty well at thinking of those other things until I sat down to write this post. Ah well. We'll get there again soon.
