[livejournal.com profile] markgritter's grandpa -- who is my grandpa too now, and I'm not giving him back -- has been here since mid-afternoon. We've been talking about science fiction and languages and neurology and art and all manner of good things, also about the standard "news from family members we have in common" topic that comes up with one's relations and affines. He is such a fine affine.

(This is how you can tell I will never be hired by Hallmark: I would want to do a line of cards about people being fine affines.)

(Ista is currently supervising Grandpa's bits of unpacking for the evening. I keep telling her, "Ista, don't help!" and he keeps saying, "Hey, I need all the help I can get!")

We have been full of activities for the last several weeks, and I think we're finally coming to the end of them -- not that I will be bored or even un-busy, but that the busy-ness will be more the doing and less the preparing for doing, if that makes any sense.

I am very very tired. But it's a good tired. I keep forgetting that today isn't Saturday, that we have a fair chunk of week yet to go. Today is all unstuck in time. Not in a bad way. Just -- unstuck. I guess my brain doesn't really have a day of the week to assign "Mark takes a day off work and Grandpa L. comes to stay overnight with us" to by default. The closest it can come is Saturday. Silly brain.
