Company!

This morning we get a ksumnersmith! If Canada is nice to us this weekend, we'll give her back on Monday. I think it's going to be fun. We have a few plans and a bunch of half-formed notions of what might be a good thing to do with a ksumnersmith in Minnesota for the first time. We're hoping she doesn't show up a zombie due to the interference of Certain Short Stories, but enh, we'll cope if she does.

One of the advantages of having one's houseguests a week apart is that there's only time for so much mess to form in that week, especially with no toddlers in the house and a very small dog. Carpets that were steam-cleaned last week don't need to be steamed again this week. We can just wipe down the countertops, put clean sheets on the bed, and bake another pan of bars. And so we have. One or two things left to do before we go to the airport, but -- generally, this is what readiness looks like. Rah.
