Unalloyed squee

Apparently my short story "Alloy" is in this week's Nature. Wheeee! I haven't seen it yet, although I've seen the page proofs, and the illo they gave me was really creepy (in a good and appropriate way). I will go look at a bookstore today, but I'm not sure when the week's issues arrive in stores, so I may have to haunt the periodical rack obsessively check more than once to find it.

Nature! I mean -- Nature!

I am pleased.

Of course.

All day, in between revisions and errands and the like, I have been making furitive little notes on The Water Castle, which wasn't even on the list yesterday.

Brains. Writer brains. They're like that.

I am still not figuring out what novel to write next. I'm just noting the dangers of enumeration.
