I'm sure after reading this you'll say I have a rather warped idea of "good," but a book that I've read recently that I really enjoyed was Under and Alone: The True Story of the Undercover Agent Who Infiltrated America's Most Violent Outlaw Motorcycle Gang. Besides the "daily life in a motorcycle gang" aspect (which honestly would have been enough for me), the tales of the times he nearly missed being caught as well as the psychological effects of being that deep undercover for that long were very interesting.

For more conventional values of "good," I've also been reading Robert Asprin's "Myth" books (as I had only read one back when they were new) and enjoying them very much.
