mrissa: (winter)

Well, the good news is that I've finished my first short story of the year, and before Twelfth Night, and it's wintry like crazy.

The bad news is that it is not, as I hoped, "Carter Hall Lights the Lamp." Instead, it's "The Snow Queen and Milady de Winter." So...yah. Rather different.

Those of you who wanted a copy of "Carter Hall Lights the Lamp" at Christmas: do you want this instead, in addition to, or not at all? Let me know, e-mail or comments. (And anyone else who wants to speak up for this one but who didn't want "CHLtL," that's fine, too. E-mail or comments.) It is still possible that I will finish the Carter Hall story before the end of Dec. 6, so "in addition to" is an option. I just don't know whether it's a likely option or not. Brains. Very stubborn sometimes.

Also, if you want either of them and have a strong preference for a hard-copy instead of an e-mailed copy, speak up. E-mail will be my default, but I know that some of you just won't read an e-mailed story, and not through lack of desire.

I'd love a copy of either. Or both.

Did I speak up before? I can't remember. I just start assuming that of course stories will come to me.

But yes, I'd love to see a copy of this one, too. (I may be allergic to most short fiction at the moment, but I do make exceptions. Like how some days I just have to eat some ice cream.)

I would love copies of anything you feel like sharing at elsa_bard at yahoo dot com. I will make my own hard copy.

Carter Hall sounds so wonderful.

If I wanted to read *any* of your Carter Hall stories, where would I go to see them?

In addition to, please. Yay!

The first one was published in On Spec this last spring. The second one is coming out from On Spec soon. So far there are only two finished. I'll be working on three and so on, and there are chunks of novel done.

There is no "of course." [livejournal.com profile] timprov's short story allergy has been known to spread itself far and wide, so I have no "of course" list for short stories.

Weird, I think a lot of the best SF is it's short fiction. Ah well, milage varies. I'd love to read both or just the one if that's the case.

It's not that [livejournal.com profile] timprov or [livejournal.com profile] ksumnersmith has any lack of appreciation for the short story form. It's more of a matter of an overdose producing an oversensitivity.

I'd like to read either or both stories, please.

Ah, is that where I got it from, then?

But if you ever do have an "of course" list for short stories, please add me to it. I may be avoiding short fiction generally at the moment, but there are people for whose work I will always make an exception.

I don't maintain such a list. Maybe I should; dunno. But I have Issues with the very concept. I don't like to assume, even when I know I ought to.

I like short stories. I like getting presents. I would love to get both stories from you.

In addition would be wonderful, but either one would be only slightly less so. E-mail is best for me.

I like to read stuff. Especially winter stuff with snow, since it's 50 and rainy here today.... *Sigh*

I don't think it's quite 50 here, but it's certainly not acting much like winter. Harumph!

if you could add me to the eagerly-awaiting list for CHLtL, i would be most grateful :)

Either or both I would like to read. Email is fine if you feel inclined to share.
