My second short story sale of the year is also my second short story sale of the day: Aberrant Dreams wants "Water, Flesh, and Stone," which I believe is dedicated to [livejournal.com profile] pegkerr; certainly it was written because of some of the stuff she was writing in her lj about heart of flesh and heart of stone.

So, um, yay!

Wow. Awesome!

It's nice that every once in a while, the dogpile is acceptances rather than rejections.

Mondo congrats!

Well, my bibliography page is always available, and I did offer to send people not one but two short stories this year. So I don't really feel at all guilty here.

What are these publications? I've never heard of either of them. Where do you find them? (Just curious.)

There are several websites listing speculative fiction markets. I got used to using Ralan's (http://www.ralan.com) when I was a wee baby writer, and I haven't really gotten out of the habit since, though I'm a lot more selective than I used to be about which I'll submit to (partly based on level of pay, but other issues of professionalism seem to come up, too -- markets that pay SFWA rates but don't respond to a 3000-word short story for 15 months are less likely to be worth my time, for example). Aberrant dreams is a webzine with an omnibus print each year. Andromeda Spaceways is an Australian print mag.

Happy that you got the nap - sorry that it couldn't raise you above zombie level.

-stifles all wandering monster tables back into sub-brain firmly-

Congrats about the sales! Two! Excellent!!!

And glad that you and Timprov got home from ER. (I found out today that my dad went to ER for fainting and they still don't know why, many hours later.) Thinking about you...

Oh, and the title of this post just made me roar. What about swords instead? -twinkle- Can't delope then, y'know.

-hugs-
