Actual content in awhile, but first:

Most of you know how this works, because you've seen it here or elsewhere on lj: here is a list of stuff I am giving away. If you want it and it hasn't been claimed in the comments, please comment and say you want it. First come, first served within two broad priority categories: first, the greater Twin Cities metro area or visiting it soon (the two conventions here at the end of the month and beginning of next month count as "soon" -- up through May will do), and second, North America in general. (Please note if you are in the first category.) Sorry, but I'm not in a mood to ship bits abroad. Whatever doesn't get taken will get donated to a library, a shelter, or a charitable organization of some other sort.

Most of the stuff this time around is on the list for one of three reasons: 1) it was such a good present to someone in this house that they got another copy of it; 2) it was in the freebie bag at World Fantasy and was either a sequel to something I haven't read or was not my cuppa; 3) we no longer have a VCR. So:

book and 2-CD set: Teach Yourself Hungarian
CD: The Mountain Goats, Sweden

VHS tapes:
Ghidrah: the Three-Headed Monster (a Godzilla movie) -- locally grabbed in a phone conversation
The Thomas Crown Affair, Steve McQueen not Pierce Brosnan
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the old one not the new one

Graphic novels:
Sandman: Brief Lives (Vol. 7) -- locally grabbed via phone
Fables: 1001 Nights of Snowfall

Books:
Glenn Meganck, George and the Angels
Tanya Huff, Smoke and Shadows
Kelley Armstrong, Broken
Keith Brooke, Genetopia -- locally grabbed via phone
Chris Moriarty, Spin Control
Maggy Thomas, Broken Time -- locally grabbed via phone
Scott A. Cupp and Joe R. Lansdale, Cross Plains Universe: Texans Celebrate Robert E. Howard

If no one nearby wants the Sandman, I'd love it. I don't have that one.

If no one nearby wants Hitchhiker's, I'd love it-- it's the only incarnation mof the series I haven't encountered.

(But only if no one nearby wants it.)

Ditto on the Kelly Armstrong.

I wouldn't mind having the Huff, if it's not also desired by anyone who could get to it first (mid-May for me).

I'll take the Swedish CD! I'll put it next to ABBA...

I'd happily take Cross Plains Universe: Texans Celebrate Robert E. Howard and the Mountain Goats CD off your hands if no one has already.

If they have, it's no big deal.

thanks!

It is not even slightly Swedish. Do you still want it, or would [livejournal.com profile] laurel be a better home?

Neither is ABBA. If it's standard rock, then [livejournal.com profile] laurel is the better home. If it's actually mountain goats (or something else out of the ordinary), I can find a use for it. Somewhere.

ABBA is very Swedish: the people in it, at least. These folks are not.

But anyway, it's rock music, yes. I guess. It falls within the parameters other people use when they say something is rock. So to [livejournal.com profile] laurel it will go.
