One rejection and one acceptance, and you already heard about both of them.

[livejournal.com profile] markgritter is home safely. And there was much rejoicing. The October schedule...is still up in the air, but it's not his fault. He's doing what he can with what he has to work with.

If there is no wild rice pudding in the house yet again tonight (I've been meaning to make it for lo these many moons), you may take your choice of blaming my book or someone else's (I'm looking at you, [livejournal.com profile] 1crowdedhour). I'm fond of stirring and reading, so as I think of it, maybe mine is the only book to blame.

I don't want you to think I've stopped hating my book, but at least it's behaving itself a bit better. I think something will have to be done with Veiko on the second draft, because he's annoying the hell out of me, which is true of many characters, but I think he's doing it in a way that will annoy the hell out of the readers and not so incidentally undermine a bit of sympathy for a bit of plot. Which is a good deal less forgivable in the long-term. But this is the first draft. It's allowed to be...drafty.

[livejournal.com profile] timprov, at lunch, wondered aloud whether one of the short stories in the queue is the first Greek/Scottish/Jewish mythology story out there. I couldn't say I could immediately think of another, but All Knowledge Is Contained In LJ, right? Of course right.

We also have a disagreement about whether the Greek gods or the Norse gods are bigger jerks. Discuss. With reference to other pantheons as you see fit.
