mrissa: (winter)

Some of the awesome things I get to give people for Christmas arrived today, in two little boxes and one big box. (So far. We've seen USPS and FedEx; there's still a possibility of Ista's mortal enemy, the UPS dude. Ooooh, she hates him so much.) I am filled with squee, because this stuff is so cool, and every last bit of it will be a surprise.

I also feel like the list of things I did not buy for my godson for Christmas ought to earn me some points somewhere. Child-sized crossbow! Child-sized bagpipes! Laser-guided scissors! I have seen all of these things, and within my budget, too. But did I buy them for Robin? I did not. Because I love his mother and dad, is why.

Also there is pepparkakor dough chilling in the fridge. Mmmmm. Pepparkakor.

::laughs:: My husband commented on some of his brother's gifts to our daughter that he had previously thought that his brother liked us. The amazing thing is my brother-in-law has a daughter not quite a year younger than mine. He's begging for retaliation. Really.

Not mine. Mine is primarily disseminated through ginger, cloves, and molasses.

Heh. We don't have a kid yet, but I have full confidence in [livejournal.com profile] porphyrin's memory, should we try something foolhardy like giving Robin a child-sized crossbow.

Huzzah! :D

And I'm probably going to be engaging in holiday baking with the kiddo once winter break comes in two weeks.

[livejournal.com profile] suzimoses has decided with her younger brother's kids that aunthood is merely continuation of childhood sibling-torment by additional means.

Pepparkakor! Thank you; I am now taking that as a sign of what to make for my English class for our end-of-semester party Thursday. It had been on my mind to do this anyway, but now the plan is confirmed. :-)

A child-sized crossbow. Man, I'd love to see that catalog.

Now, of course, I am hungry for pepparkakor.

Not literally is a start, at least.

Good luck getting to not figuratively either tomorrow.
