I have been going around singing this song and giggling for days now, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] themagdalen. It is two minutes of safe-for-work safe-for-kids cute Motown joy. It is not a particularly complicated joke. But I am still singing snippets and giggling over it.

A couple of you were looking for happiness on your friendslist. Go watch. It's not time to bake the lussekatter yet, so this is what I've got.

I passed this along to Matt S., a friend of mine, who once sang, in passing:
O marmoset, o marmoset, oh how we love the marmoset.

Oh, they have tails, and claws and fur.
They differ from the le-e-mur.
O marmoset, o marmoset, oh how we love the marmoset.

Cute!

This evens the score, after that Obama-Dodd link I posted (seemingly eons ago).

We had a marmoset song to the tune of "For The Longest Time":

Once I thought my marmoset was gone
Then I found it lying on the lawn
So glad I found it
I'm so glad I mowed around it
I hadn't seen it for the longest time

"mowed around it" obviously being the funnest part to sing

Oh, I hope this is one of the days my cousin stops by to read my lj. I really do. Because we wore out a cassette tape of Innocent Man when I was little, and this is just the best thing ever related to that. Even better than the arguments we had when we were small children trying to decipher the line "my old man's Trojans" from "Keeping the Faith." (Jojos, was our eventual consensus guess. The little potato whatsits. His father had a very tasty recipe for them that impressed the ladies.)

"MY MARMOSET!"

I clicked because I love motown, and then I laughed, and laughed and laughed.

Thank you. That was absolutely darling.
