Uncle Rudy story
Jul. 31st, 2009 09:54 amOkay, so to understand this story you have to know that
markgritter's family is Dutch-American, and Uncle Rudy was from a part of Michigan with a lot of Hollanders (though he was himself the son of Czech immigrants).
Mark and I had gotten engaged, and Uncle Rudy came up to me at the next family gathering with a sly grin. "I know why you're marrying this boy," he said. "Oh yah? Why's that?" I said. "Every summer you'd hear us come in from outside and say, 'whew, it's hotter than Dutch love out there,'" he said, "and you, you just had to find out."

Also, I've had a Dutch lover (long distance, he lived in Amsterdam) and....yeah. wink
