mrissa: (think so do ya?)

Some days I have no idea how you people who don't make bread get by. With breadmaking, you punch and you punch and you punch, and then the people around you do not say, "You horrible violent person! We are calling the police!", they say, "Yummy! Oh, thank you!"

This is one of the many many times I read a post of yours, laugh, read it aloud to someone else in the room, and then think, "I love M'ris!"

This time I also forwarded the link to someone else so they could laugh, too.

I take out my surplus aggression by playing Civ; shelling the crap out of Genghis Khan is surprisingly satisfying even when they're only little coloured pictures on a screen.

My first thought on seeing "so juicy sweeeet" is not Gollum but William Carlos Williams, but perhaps that's just me.

Your loaf I say our loaf may look like his

Dang. Now I need limpa, fresh from the oven, with fresh-churned sweet cream butter.

Or to be really young again and at my Grandmother's kitchen back in the old parsonage.

Yep, just you. The extra e's make it cross the line.

And lo, she was enlightened.

But no, "so juicy sweeeet" is just my food tag.

I'm glad you find it so. For me, punching is a physical thing that non-physical things cannot account for.

I only have the recipe for one of those, I'm afraid. Do you need a good limpa recipe? I have my grandmother's (farmor's).

I actually have one. Just need the time availability - we've almost got the townhouse in Hudson ready to up for sale. Then we start working on the house in WBL, then we find our new place.....yeah.

But then it would be Swedish fish bread, and I'm pretty sure we've eaten all of the leftover Swedish fish.

In high school, I coped by taking ceramics classes (at the Y): punching the clay and throwing it at the bench to get the air bubbles out was good for the same thing.

I would eat Swedish fish bread, it'd be like fruitcake, right?

Me, me! I need a good limpa recipe! (Me, I have mostly been trying to develop tender, delicate, stretchy ways of kneading that are not so much with the punch-punch, but I'm ever-willing to revert.)

Here you go. (http://www.marissalingen.com/limpa.html) I will note that a standard packet of yeast is a scant tablespoon here--2 t. and a bit. I don't buy yeast in packets any more, so I have that in my head and should go back and put it in my old recipes.

Well, some times are not times for gentleness, and making rye bread is one of those times.
