Yah, the supermarkets are pretty quiet on the Friday. Because we often do Ye Huge Potluck on Friday, Mirth generally sneaks over to Costco for shopping. I don't know what time they make their employees come in, but it is awfully crazy. We just buy food that day, not toys.
