There are some things that happen in your life where the only good thing you can say about them is that they are over and you don't have to go through them again just exactly the same way.

Or at least that would be true if you didn't then dream reliving two of those experiences in excruciating detail in one night.

This would be a very good time to tell me something good that's going on with you, even if it's as simple as good food you ate or a book you're reading that seems promising.

Some total stranger from a bookshop as far as I know I've never gone into just rang up about doing a event around The Biography, preferably in connection with International Women's Month. I am way chuffed.

Fetal development still on track and normal as far as we can tell.

Other than horrible, movement-limiting hip issues I am having a "normal", uneventful pregnancy. Even the hip issues are progressing, as my rehab on it is getting me increased mobility every day. (Pain still present most of the time, which is irritating.)

This is my 4th week of attempting to go to the gym 3 times a week. I am succeeding so far, though we'll see about this week as I missed yesterday.

Being pregnant is NOTHING like having cancer. They are so far across the spectrum of sensation from each other that it is hard to articulate meaningful comparisons.

Our older child is a burgeoning teen and showing all the angsty, mopey signs of such. This is a good thing, as it means he's normalized enough to get upset about small, daily things rather than just life-or-death/injury situations.

Now I must brave the TERRIBLE ICY COLD OF DOOM (got down to all of 17 degrees here last night, and Texas-sized panic ensues in the populace accordingly) to take kid to school and go to the gym. May you have a better day than your dreams started off!

I am looking forward to The Habitation of the Blessed and spending the day snuggling w/my kittehs (Snowpocalypse, I'm staying home). I'm also very curious to see how The Strain is. I haven't read any Hogan, but del Toro is a very good storyteller. and I have been told by my 17lb cat that I'm done typing. How do I know? I can't see the laptop screen through him.

My cat is snoring off in the distance.

I'm finally watching the New Who (Eccleston version), and quite enjoying it, which is nice since I bounced off first Angel and then Quantum Leap in quick succession.

It is a clear, peaceful morning, the remanents of Snowpocalypse 2011 are undisturbed and sparkling, I have plenty of coffee, and a large chunk of sewing time ahead of me today.

ETA: I hope you have a day that helps you forget last night's dreams.

There's nothing interesting going on, which is just fine. I need to go to sleep Real Soon Now, as I'm working tonight, but there's plenty of time for that. Routine is kinda nice.

We didn't get nearly as much snow yesterday as predicted...so hopefully today's prediction will be off as well? (which would be good. I'm not really complaining about the snow, but everyone around here is very much worried about the structural capacity of the roofs to handle not so much the snow as the ice/freezing rain and heavy snow that's predicted for today on top of the 60" we've already had this winter).

And I'm *very* excited about the quilt that I'm making :) Sewing is one thing, but quilting has always been something of a mystery to me and now I'm finding that I think I enjoy it more than any other craft I've undertaken :)

A snow day! We never got snow days in college! We got a couple of cold days, though.

The sun is sparkling off the snow. I have tea, Internet, and knitting. If I make it to Boston by Friday at 2, I have an interview I'm really excited about. I get to see people from Boston to Hartford, including my Internet Nieces, [livejournal.com profile] dancing_crow's daughters. I'm awfully squeeful about that! And roomsplitting with [livejournal.com profile] jenett is going to make the cattle calls job fair so much less painful, I can't even tell you.

Thanks!

Well, yeah, I'm excited about the other things too, but I'm gushing over *that* in enough other places as it is. I really *am* excited over the quilt. *laugh*

That being said, I'm very sorry about your dreams, and I hope that they don't recur :(

Progress is being made on planning my conference trip in March which makes it look less horribly burdensome than I had feared in the what-the-employer-will-pay-in-advance direction.

We see Derek Jacobi in Lear broadcast on the big screen tomorrow evening, and if the snow lets up we will have [livejournal.com profile] nineweaving with us.

I have my Valentines all bought in a timely fashion this year and the transAtlantic ones already sent.

I don't think these would be snow days in Minnesota--mostly they just seem to be making our Massachusetts winter look like a gloriously Minnesotan one. With which I am entirely okay.

two or three weeks ago. First night that the sun wasn't down when I left the office. There was a nice ribbon of orange on the horizon that gave way very quickly to the very-deep-blue night sky. Right above the orange, just into the ink was a narrow sliver of the day old moon. It was an awesome sky picture, captured in my head.

The new lunar year starts tomorrow and the post office is going to issue a stamp celebrating the new year.

So first one can, tonight, celebrate with those close by and then, tomorrow, send greetings on cards decorated with the New Year stamp!

Despite various unplanned expenses (I'm looking at you, water heater) it looks like my tax refund will refill the reserve fund and leave some left over for fun stuff.

I have lunch plans with friends (hopefully not scuttled by the weather); while my previous plans for this evening have been altered by the weather, dinner with someone who I see far too rarely still looks likely to happen sometime in the next few days.

Also, That Thing is still as wonderful as it's been for months.

May get a nice toothy research project here at work today. Plus, the crazies driving on 36 thru Roseville must have slept in late; traffic wasn't bad.

Nate's birthday is soon, and this year I thought of a very good present for him and I'm looking forward to his birthday so I can give him the present. (He already knows most of what it is, because I asked him for input on some of the details, but some of it will still be a surprise.)

I get to visit someone you can guess in ~3 and ~6 weeks, and then there's Minicon.

I looked at the weather forecast early enough to realize it would be a very good day to take lunch to work rather than plan to go out at lunchtime, and did so.

I am enjoying the new job, and even when yesterday was extra busy, I kept up and felt useful. (And this morning has been much more relaxed so far, which is also very nice.)

I wish you a much improved day!

Snow!

Today work closed because of the snow. This will mean more work tomorrow and Friday and on and on (but that would probably happen anyway) and now I have a whole day, unexpectedly, to do whatever I would like. I will write and read and even nap. And that is wonderful.
