I think this really ought to be the last of the Christmas pictures: Christmas in Omaha and Roo opens his meeno.

I am in the process of convincing the brain that playing solitaire and thinking about the book may follow the letter of this whole "day off" thing but certainly doesn't follow the spirit of it.

Oo! Meeno joy! There's nothing like it.

It's a pity we can't trade creative projects, or rather minds, or rather, I'm not sure. My story HAS TO BE DONE, and is being coy and sulky and sloooooowwwwwww. It could eat my brain, I wish it would, but it's not interested. Allergic. Got hives last time. Doesn't wanna.

This book has played coy with me for so long that I can deal with it coming on a bit too strong right now. I feel like it "should have" eaten my brain like this two years ago.

I really, really need to learn to apply "shoulds" sparingly in this kind of setting.
