Here's a a poem I wrote, in this month's Uncanny, for those of us who find that poking around in family history is not much like it looked in Frozen 2: Identity.

I love this very much.

I have never heard any of the Sámi languages outside of films.

Very nice. I love how it twists. (Not quite the right word, but I’m not finding a better way to say it.)

It reminds me of this poem by Jane Hirshfield, not because of the reindeer/deer (though that’s not irrelevant), but because of the direction it leads the reader.

This is perfection, maybe especially the particular tinge of snark. P.

So beautiful, and sharp as hooves or antler tines. Thank you!

This is so good. I love how the end is sharp and soft at once.
