Friends, I haven't been reading much short stuff in the first quarter. I'm going to try to change that! But I figured I'd rather post a short list now than do a truly giant post at the half-year mark. Recommendations welcome in the comments, help me catch up when I'm between projects.

I haven't read anything short lately, except a short story in the All for the Game universe, but it can't be read on its own.

I think my favorite line in the Ness is the bitey footnotes.

Reading the Ness story makes me wonder how close that is to actual academia.

Also, I saw this recently:

There was a procession of likes for it, some from people that I know know from academia.
