mrissa: (happy)

I swear [livejournal.com profile] novel_gazing isn't just a photoblog, but there are puppy pictures over there this morning: here.

ETA: I am not naming the puppy, because she is not yet our puppy, and I cannot expect that she will be our puppy. I suspect that I know what I'm not naming her. But I'm not, not, not.

*knuffles the puppy*

She's a doll. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Um, Mer, dear? How does one knuffle?

It means "hug" in Dutch. :)

...and I thought it was something more like a wet, whuffling kiss on the hair for the first year I was exposed to it, which is actually how I mean it.

Well, sort of mean it. I wouldn't get the puppy wet.

You needn't sound so horrified; the puppy would have no such compunctions about you.

Gwaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

I shall send vibes breederwards -- "Do not keep the brown puppy!"

Brown puppy is the exact same color as our cocker spaniel.

She won't stay that dark, but she's awfully purty, and she will stay that much fun.

Either way, she is a very sweet-looking puppy. Fingers are crossed for you. :)

The puppies!

I want to hold one!

It will be interesting to hear about the adventure, either way.

Standing by.

Elizabeth Peters isn't dead, for what that's worth. :)

Ellis Peters is, and since she wrote the Cadfael books, it seems more directly relevant.

Oh! My bad; I thought Ellis and Elizabeth Peters were one and the same. I have learned something today. :)

Ellis Peters's other name is Edith Pargeter. I liked all twenty of the Brother Cadfael mysteries under the Peters name and didn't like one of the plain historical novels under the Pargeter name. I haven't tried any of the other Pargeter books, and I think part of the problem was that I wanted it to be like Sharon Kay Penman and it wasn't, so I can't say whether they're good. I will note that I know other people with the identical reaction, though.
