[livejournal.com profile] timprov got me a Mats Sundin jersey. It arrived today.

Honestly? I am absolutely adorable in this thing.

Sometimes this is a decent feeling to have.

I'm also kind of That Girl in this thing, but that's all right; it's a northerly sort of That Girl, so there you have it.

Miss Pion Ista Gritter has decided that she does not entirely approve of the baking of birthday cakes, as it involves paying attention to things that are not the puppy. Too bad for her the monkeys are in charge, not the puppies.

Okay, but is it a good Sundin, in blue and white with a big Maple Leaf on the front, or a sort of okayish Sundin, in yellow and blue with some crowny-type things? ;)

(says Cait, who wears her Salming (!) jersey to watch Leaf games...

Are you kidding? White on blue, of course.

Her Norwegian relatives would kill me.

On the other hand, my Swedish relatives would be ecstatic.

So ecstatic they might go so far as to say, "How nice."

See, you'd look more adorable in the soon-to-be-unveiled Sidney Crosby jersey. Complete with Pittsburgh colors.

I'm just sayin'.

Oh, no, darlin'; blue and a little white is a lot more flattering to a Mrissa than black, white, and gold. Trust me: I went to a college whose colors were black and gold, so I know whereof I speak.

A stylized penguin does help, though.

Mats! (Sorry, I'm perhaps a bit overly excited about getting hockey back, and Toronto's the team I follow.) I bet you are remarkably adorable in it.

I'm overly excited, too. Downtown St. Paul has signs that say, "No hockey? No problem!" on the theme of what other stuff there is to do in downtown St. Paul. I shake my fist at them every time we pass them. (Since there isn't that much we do in downtown St. Paul, this is not often.)

The Leafs are our second favorite team, after our Wild, and there just isn't anybody on the Wild who IS SWEDISH FOR "KICKING YOUR ASS" -- ahem, sorry, long story -- who is that much a favorite player above his teammates. We twist other people's songs at Marion Gaborik (Steven Brust and Counting Crows, mostly, together again for the first time), but it's not the same.

I didn't realize that Ista's actual first name is Pion. Although, I suppose, better her than a FAR-IN-THE-FUTURE, I-SWEAR-TO-GOD-NO-PRESSURE child (sorry, [livejournal.com profile] mgritter.

[livejournal.com profile] markgritter, you mean.

And yes, that's why.

I thought that looked wrong, but I couldn't find him on my page at the time. And then a bright and shiny object came by....
