Two rejections, no acceptances.

Hey, you know what? Something like half of what I think at any given formal event is inappropriate. You know what else? That ratio does not improve when I know very well that one of the major participants in that event (say -- just to take a random example -- the groom at a wedding) would laugh some extremity off if I actually said those things.

Sometimes it's very good to be friends with grown-ups, the people who can say those things to you but know when and when not.

[livejournal.com profile] markgritter and the pup and I are home safe and sound and worn to a nubbin. I swear they put some parts of Wisconsin on a loop and made us drive them more than once today. And I get to get up at oh-dark-thirty to take [livejournal.com profile] markgritter to the airport. Oh yay. Since [livejournal.com profile] timprov is not up now, I have hopes that he will be when I get back from the airport, and that we are both steady enough on our feet to make a Perkins run. A quiet morning at home would do in a pinch, but this sort of thing is what Perkins is for.

More tomorrow, I hope.

Yah, I know exactly what you mean. But every once in a while I say those things anyway. Just to keep things interesting.

You get The hypothetical person whose event it is gets more leeway.

Still, sometimes it is a good idea to say them anyway, yes.
