Stealth semi-pro sale
Aug. 6th, 2006 02:21 pmThe e-mail I got from Tyree Campbell today started, "Oops, sorry, I forgot to tell you." I think this is the first sale I've ever made that started like that. I'm amused. Anyway, "Moth Kin" is a very, very short story, and it's going in the October edition of Between Kisses (which is not porn nor erotica nor romance nor...anything kiss-related, so far as I can tell, and I'm still not sure why he calls it that, but he is willing to print this story and pay me cash money for it, so hey). I met Mr. Campbell at
mmerriam's reading at Minicon this last year. He was nice, so I sent him a story, and you see where it got me.
I am thinking of the bit from "Bull Durham" where Nuke points out that he loves winning, because it's better than losing. I feel that way about selling stories. It's better than...not. Yah. Don't mind the odd mood, please. I'll just go read now, and drink some more juice, just in case.
