mrissa: (reading)
Review copy sent by publisher. Full disclosure: the poet has been an online friend of mine for the better part of the last decade.

This is a slim and lovely chapbook, thin enough to be read in one enthusiastic and poetry-drunk setting if you are inclined to be a gulper rather than a sipper of poetry, but also thin enough that it's easy to revisit and reread favorites when you're reviewing. There are odes to moss and to terraforming, poems for Barbara McClintock and Grace Hopper. I think this is a book that can reach serious poetry readers but also people who are not very committed to poetry as a field but are interested in examinations of the intersection of science and culture. These are poems for nerds of all stripes, grouped in a way that brought a familiar smile to my face. I recommend them wholeheartedly.
