Week of November 6-12
Nov. 12th, 2005 06:47 pmSeven rejections. They didn't come at a steady rate of one per day, of course: four today alone. One of them was a children's book place that took a year to send a form letter saying that they're not going to reply to submissions any more unless they want them. I really don't have any sympathy for that: if you accept unsolicited queries and/or manuscripts in the first place, and people include an SASE, sticking a slip of paper in the SASE is really not too much to ask. Or shouldn't be. (Anyway I had already given up on them and moved along.)
I really think if I squint sideways at it long enough, I'll finish the short story with Orvokki in it next week. Of course, then I'll have to come up with a title. Man is born to trouble as the sparks fly upwards, I suppose.
