I'm pretty much done with the phase of my life in which I actively resented the general societal assumption that I would be celebrating Christmas, and I genuinely don't care if I'm wished a merry one, or a happy holiday, or season's greetings or whatever. It's all friendly and I like friendly.
My celebrations of light come at slightly different times - one kind at the winter solstice, and a different kind at the start of February - and there are some differences that are important and others that aren't, but it still makes me happy to hear about other people's celebrations and the symbols that get inside them and work. And I'm excessively fond of cardamom buns.
I'm old enough that I don't need everyone to be as open as I am to the idea that we can all be enriched by each other's differences, rather than threatened by them.
I like... hi btw, I found you while reading callunav's friends page and got hooked on your entries so have friended you, hope that's ok. This is my traditional "I am not an axe-murderer, honest" type comment which you are free to believe or disbelieve as you prefer.

It certainly saves a lot head scratching when you finally notice a new name on the reading list and are wondering just where they appeared from and when... :)
