I was mostly convinced that I would show up for my first Minn-StF meeting and find that [livejournal.com profile] dd_b and [livejournal.com profile] lydy were not yet there, that I knew no one but [livejournal.com profile] cakmpls, and that she would be too busy being hostly to chat with me.

I was wrong on all counts. We seem to have skipped directly to the, "Ack, I'll never get to talk to half the people here I'd like to talk to before my cat allergies kick in!" problem. Well, it's a good kind of wrong and a good kind of problem.

It was nice to see you out and about, even if we didn't get to chat too much. It was my first meeting, too. We both kind of had conversations going in opposite ends of the house there, didn't we? But that's okay. It WAS a busy meeting! Quite a turnout; I was astounded by how many butts were in that kitchen at once! There was a pretty good vibe there tonight, though, I thought :)

Your second meeting, I think; didn't you show up at the picnic last summer?

Hmmm...Well, yes, I guess you could count that, although we didn't really know anyone at all, and didn't even know what MnStF was. We didn't even know where we were! We'd never even been to Minnesota before :) Someone just gave us directions to the picnic and said to go, and we found our way there and showed up, not even knowing what we were going to. I'm not sure if that counts, plus it was the annual picnic and not a regular meeting, but if you want to be *technical* about it, okay. ;oD

Yah, I have this problem with getting up and leaving a conversation where I enjoy the people and new people are wandering in periodically, so I never made it to the front of the house to talk to the people there. I enjoyed myself, too, despite missing half the group. (And at least I didn't miss Logan's extensive round-the-plug conversation!)

Heh, I don't think ANYONE in the house missed Logan's round-the-plug yammering! He was jigging his way through the house and jabbering at people pretty solidly from the moment we got there, to the point that I saw exhaustion in some folks' eyes as he passed by ;oD

And there will be other meetings, and other conversations, and we live here, etc. :)

Hope to see you both at the next meeting we host! We do one every three to four months - we should be having another one no later than the end of July. I'll have to ask [livejournal.com profile] iraunink when we should do it again.

Thanks :) I don't know how things will go until we see what sort of job and schedule Jason gets, but we'll keep it in mind!

I make no promises about how many/which Minn-StF meetings I will make in the future, as Things Come Up, but I had a good time at this one. I think my attendance will look pretty random (as I'm sure many people's does) and will not reflect on the hosts--although I have to say that doggish households are likely to have points in their favor as opposed to cat-endowed ones, due to allergy concerns.

We have a distinct advantage there, being one of the few doggish households in Minn-StF. Being allergic to cats myself, I am fully aware of just how many fen keep cats!

I'm not one to hang the last dogs in the first place, but this distinctly affects my social life.
