Three rejections. Apparently the exhortations to go back on our heads earlier this week were heeded by at least some editorial staff.

The Target in Burnsville is disappearing slowly into a dimensional rift. If you want anything from there, you'd better go now, because it doesn't look like it'll be there much longer. There were expanses that looked like they were wide open, free of shelves or racks or stuff to buy, but apparently you could lose a toddler in those supposed wide open spaces, because there was a woman calling for hers in an increasingly desperate voice. Entire departments were walled off; others were just empty. There was no indication that they were going out of business. They just didn't have...y'know, stuff. Target stuff. Extremely disorienting.

Also, I am beginning to wonder if putting "casual" in the name of your store is like putting "science" in your field of study: means it isn't one.

In any case, I may be done with the "attempting to spend money" component of the day and may be moving into the "putting things away and writing" component of the day, which would be nice, all things considered.

???

How are you to get coat hangers if not from Target?

The employees at this one cared as many flying consonants as you could name. They were ready to heartily agree with us that the state of the store was weird! very weird!

Not, apparently, to change it. But still.

well, they can't restock the shelves if they don't have stock.

me, i'd suspect that the hourly labor market in that area is about to be flooded with unemployed former target workers.

Either that or they're doing a major something-or-other. Hard to say. It's the one right across from Burnsville Center, so I'd be surprised if it couldn't stay in business with all the stuff along Cty. 42 there.

After the paperclips pupate, they hatch out a coathangers.

Either that, or they come from the drycleaners.

I used to lose toddlers in the library, so annoyingly often that I took to putting leashes on them.

But did you lose them in wide open space? or in the stacks?

Everywhere, especially when I had two two-year-olds and a three-year-old; I'd invariably find the eldest in the corner with the picture books, but the other two teamed up so one could cross a wide open space and disappear while the other I was rounding up her sister.

Toddlers have magical powers, unfortunately for their grown-ups.

It is having an Extreme Makeover. In about 10 months it will be a Super Target. (Per my physical therapist, who is about 2-3 blocks from there.)

I went into the one in Roseville tonight. TO. MUCH. STUFF. I'm home now, shivering in fear that isles of STUFF will attack my front door.

I thought I was the only one who freaked out at big stores! I'm still nervous about the Normal, IL Wal-Mart. I like things to be small enough that I can always find a wall.

The same thing is happening at the Target on 70th and York in Edina. It is closing today until October when it becomes a Super Target, possibly with attached condos.

It happened here, although they weren't calling it a super Target, just a remodel. They had a lot of signage out talking about the remodel, but the shelves still aren't fully stocked, so I'm not sure what's going on.
