I am sorry if any of you got spooked about my first post this morning and thought I was talking about [livejournal.com profile] timprov. I am not talking about [livejournal.com profile] timprov. Very, very few of you have met the loved one I was talking about. So you may be sympathetic to me and unspecified-loved-one without panicking on behalf of a [livejournal.com profile] timprov you personally care about.

Well that's ... something. I'm not sure what something it is though: I still feel terrible about the situation your loved one is in and the stress and anxiety it must be causing everyone who cares about that person; I'm glad it's not [livejournal.com profile] timprov, because he has more than enough medical trouble as it is.... Um, hugs?

Thanks.

I'd like to sign on to this sentiment. Not having met [livejournal.com profile] timprov to my knowledge, and definitely not having met the relative who really has the problem, the whole thing is rather abstract to me, but ... yeah. Also hugs.

Um. I dunno if that's good news, exactly but at least [livejournal.com profile] timprov isn't any worse off.

Just so.

Good! No, bad! Because [livejournal.com profile] mrissa still has a loved person who is Very Not Well! But good! Because it is not this *particular* loved person!

You know, I think I'll quit while I'm ahead.

Exactly what I just thought.

With added hugs. Because one can never go wrong with hugs.

Except with burn victims, which nobody here is, you are absolutely right.

I admit, that was what I thought. I'm glad I was mistaken. But it doesn't change my general anxiety at the thought of such a situation.

Some of my elderly relatives have been presented with that sort of choice, though--the operation that can help the specific-and-possibly-fatal problem but can also stress the person's delicate system, with possibly fatal consequences.

I am sorry that anyone you know is in that position.

Ah. Carry on, then.

(Never quite sure what to say, but you do have my sympathy, for what it's worth.)

"Whew" and "I'm so sorry" both at once.

I still think that's a terrible situation, and I'm very sorry that anyone you love should have to deal with such a problem. But I will now take a deep breath and stop freaking out about Timprov.

Thanks for the clarification, and you and your unspecified loved one have my sympathy.
