Two rejections. La la la.

I also finished "At the Sign of the Fish and Amulet" longhand at my grandparents' kitchen table on Saturday afternoon, making it four short stories for four weeks of January. I do not intend to do fifty-two short stories this year. Still, it's been good to get things cleared out a bit, mentally. Tidying up the brain just a little.

Had a good time with my grands. I think my grandpa had a good birthday celebration, even though his actual birthday isn't until Thursday. And now there is typing of that story to do, and there are other stories to write, and the house will demand house stuff -- Melvin the Laundry Monster threatens -- so there's all that, and it's looking suspiciously like a Monday.

The title itself made my day better

Hello, frequent lurker here. Just wanted to say: someone needs to buy that "At the Sign of the Fish and Amulet" story right quick, because the title is just killing me. It's been forever since I felt like dropping whatever I was reading and hunting down something else based on title alone.

But that's just me.

Good to hear, thanks!

The title came from an [livejournal.com profile] elisem necklace shown (though not nearly in all its glory) in the middle of this page of pictures (http://www.marissalingen.com/052405.html). [livejournal.com profile] elisem has a way with titles.
