I am in a break from my role as Chief Cook to the Painting Party, and I wanted to note that this basement project is a pretty big deal for us. It's a large investment of time and money, and it's probably going to change several things about the way we live in this house.

Specifically, when we moved into this house, there was a sign in the basement that said, "Buses do not stop here." I had [livejournal.com profile] timprov take me down to check this morning (no stair rail at the moment), and that sign was gone.

So it only remains to find out which buses do stop in our basement, and whether our friends in South Minneapolis can get here direct or whether they have to change at Bigdale.

I have a light switch in my basement that has appeared to do nothing for years. Perhaps it turns your bus route on and off.

If you like, I can go flip it on for you.

Why don't you wait on that until we've finished with the painting at least, and possibly the trim and the carpet as well? I do appreciate the offer, though.

Check with [livejournal.com profile] mmerriam. If he can move phantom streetcars around the Cities, he can probably get you the bus that stops in your basement.
