It depends on the previous relationship of the characters and, to me, their gender. Two guys, my mind goes to old mobster movies where everyone is sitting around in white towels talking about whacking guys (in the killing sense).

If they're of the opposite gender (or of the same gender but I have some reason to suspect one of them might not be straight), then I'm more likely to think of it as sexually charged.
