COVID Spring: The Drive to the Library

New-bloomed, strong enough
To smell through my mask,

Before the pandemic
Each dog was beautiful.
Now each human is too.

Thank you! They came upon me as a surprise, so I can't feel sure how long it'll keep being like this, but in the meantime that is good to hear.

Our library is doing curbside pickup -- one must make an appointment.

Yes, that's what we've got here too. Once a week I go pick up a bag of books and drop off the ones I'm done with.

Interesting -- they're not accepting returns. Don't know if there's a protocol for disinfecting books/DVDs/etc. (The ALA links to a Swiss guidance. It's a happy problem to have.)

Best research I've seen says that paper is not a good transfer medium for this virus, so I'm pretty comfortable with what my library is doing, which is leaving returned materials untouched for three days and then only handling them with masks and gloves on.
