Mar. 22nd, 2005 07:30 pmDo I actually have to write the pre-Minicon "fussing about seeing people I don't know or don't know well in large quantities and really maybe I should stay home and hide under my desk and also what am I going to weaaaaaar" post? Or can we just take that as given?

Date: 2005-03-23 02:33 am (UTC)Do I have to write the "Backing out at this point will leave a bunch of people who are hoping to see you at Minicon very dissappointed?" message, or can we just take that as given?

Date: 2005-03-23 06:25 am (UTC)I mean, I know lots of people at Minicon. Skads, really. Probably more than half the folks who'll be there are people I'll recognize by name and/or by sight. And yet I still worry. And figure they don't know who I am (when clearly, some do).
The what to wear thing is my current obsession. Given so much of my clothes are in boxes and I don't know what is in which box, etc. Back when I was gainfully employed, I'd probably run out and buy at least one new shirt or something. Silly. It was angst about what to wear to a con or a fannish party that once prompted me to sarcastically remark in my Livejournal that my angst truly was justified because after all "Minn-StF is all about fashion." Yup. Uh-huh. If I wear the wrong thing, there'll be hell to pay.

Date: 2005-03-23 12:27 pm (UTC)And I hate all the clothes in the stores right now, and it's that weird in-between season where you don't want to wear heavy winter clothes but you can't go out barelegged and in sandals without instantly freezing to death (and getting snow in your sandals), and...oh, I'm sure there's an and. But if you see me in jeans and a T-shirt at Minicon, you will know that my disgruntlement with my wardrobe has reached new heights.
