There will eventually be more of these stories. Timprov is fond of what he calls Industrial Fantasy, which goes up until the advent of commercial air travel. I think the early 20th century is woefully underexplored in fantasy. I plan on messing around with the 1920s and 1930s in particular, although Thermionic Night is set in 1950 and Sampo in 1951-1956. And absolutely no Leave It To Beaver families, either!
Leave it to Beaver (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0050032/) was a late-'50s television series with an incredibly high saccharine content. It's become the cliche stereotype of '50s Americana. That image is about as realistic as stock fantasy medievalism.
