Two rejections.

[livejournal.com profile] greykev and I did the grocery shopping, and I still have cookies to make. And [livejournal.com profile] timprov and I are being silly. Sorry, I should have warned you that there would be something shocking in this post.

The wee bop is not at all fond of this cold. I can't say I'm fond of it myself, but it resets parts of my brain that need a reset yearly or so in order to work properly. In some sense, my backbrain believes that it is supposed to get this cold roughly once a year, and so while it isn't pleasant when it does, it's somehow satisfying.

That's just how I feel about the cold. I'd be happier if there were more snow cover -- the direction I come at this from is that of somebody worrying about her plants and about whether the vast hordes of additional garden pests from Those Southern Climes will dig in here if they are not firmly discouraged by bitter horrible cold -- but I am quite relieved that the weather has quit being so weird.

I, too, would be happier with more snow cover. But I don't so much care about the plants. I just like snow.

After almost two months in Ontario, I think I'd be adjusted to the cold if it weren't for my backbrain continually protesting, "But it's not supposed to be like this!"

This is doubtless some cosmic punishment for spending all those winters on the West Coast while the rest of the country endured horrific things like...snow. :)

Winters on the West Coast were my punishment.

Yes. February in Arizona has perfect weather, but it's not what February is *supposed* to be like, which ruins its perfection for me.

yes. i am very close to the part of the day where i toss the chi outside and she pees more quickly than a person would have thought possible and the big dog recalls that she does not need to be outside for very long, but oy.

and my brain has also reset now. i will be happy if we only have this one weekend of serious cold, but boy did we need it or else i would have been weirded out by not having had actual winter for yet another year. (although i am gleeful that i do not have to scrape the car. hurray not much snow! hurray garage!)

I'm okay with having one bitterly cold weekend, and some moderately cold weeks. But I think I'm done now, and am ready to move on to a season in which the weather does not put opaque things on my windshield and seek to suck the breath out of my lungs and wreck my car.
