Kalevala Day

In case I don't manage to say anything else today: happy Kalevala Day! What a great holiday. I'm afraid I don't know how I'm going to celebrate it, but surely some celebration must be in order.

It's also my brother-in-law-in-law's birthday, and I dreamed that he got his new offspring for his birthday. Which would be suboptimal -- nearly a month early -- so I hope he can wait and have a belated present instead, in that regard.

Not that I'm anxious for auntiehood, you know.

So, um, how do the Finns celebrate Kalevala day? (Drinking lots of alcohol, probably. That seems to be a fairly common Northern European celebration method.)

Well, Jeff didn't get a baby for his birthday, but we did get our dinosaur crib stuff. Since you dreamed about it, do you remember which gender it was, if that was part of your dream? We're curious what other people are predicting at this point... :)

In the dream, everyone was so caught up running around trying to get there that nobody had the time to tell me what flavor child it was.

I wouldn't call it a prediction, but I tend to catch myself saying "her......or him." Not a prediction nor even a preference. Just a grammatical prejudice, I guess.
