One rejection. Ahh, WorldCon. Diminisher of posts to my friendslist and my mailbox alike.

[livejournal.com profile] timprov and I binged on Veronica Mars Season 2 episodes this morning, and I would be extremely surprised if there wasn't more of the same in the future when we're both awake. I still love this show. I think I love it in DVD format, though; I'm pretty sure it would drive me even more crazy to be waiting a week between episodes than to be waiting a year between DVDs. It's still making me laugh and bounce and make incoherent noises of rightness and equally incoherent noises of being gut-punched. I love this show with the rabid fangirl love. Even though it never has enough Weevil.

(And again: very plotty show, so I appreciate people not putting spoilers in comments. I consider it my own responsibility to avoid, say, reading TWoP or other episode descriptions or larger series-level discussions, but having people deliberately tell me plot points in advance is different. You all were great about this with Season 1. Thanks.)

It's probably just as well that [livejournal.com profile] timprov's and my sleep schedules aren't more synchronized this weekend, because there are, in fact, other things in the world to do. Some of them worthwhile and important, even.

(Still: I love this show.)

In any other show, Keith Mars would probably be my favorite character. (Well, any other show except B5.) But in VM, he's fighting it out with Weevil and Wallace and Logan (and in some episodes Beaver and Mac).

We just saw a Monk episode with the actor who plays Keith Mars. What made it interesting was that he was playing almost exactly the same character. (In Monk he's a former police officer and former partner of Monk who was kicked out of the force after some drugs that he was supposed to log into evidence went missing. He's making a living as a security guard at MegaMart.) It's also a great Monk episode--Monk goes undercover as a clerk at MegaMart. Turn out he makes a superior MegaMart clerk.

Yep, we've seen that one. We figured Enrico Colantoni and Tony Shalhoub knew each other from "Galaxy Quest." (You did make that connection with Keith Mars, right? He's Malthasar, the leader of the good aliens.) I love Enrico Colantoni. He's awesome.

I watched the first season on DVD and it was, I think, the perfect way, especially given that I was kind of insomniac at the time, and the show gave my brain something else to focus on (and how!).

I'm usually a spoilerwhore (which isn't to say that I think other people need to be), but trying to remain spoiler-free for VM strikes me as entirely Right and Good.

Yah, exactly: it's not like I usually care. But for this show, I definitely care.

No problem. This is what we do.

Let us know if you have other needs we can help with while [livejournal.com profile] ladysea is sore and her car is sorer.

Will do :)

Oh, hey - [livejournal.com profile] songwind mentioned that there was some concern over lasagna?

Lasagna is my default other-people's-crisis food, and my default around-the-house lasagna noodles have wheat in them. I know I could go buy a box of the gluten-free kind if I was going to make you a pan of lasagna, but it didn't occur to me until after I'd rethought what to make.

*chuckle* not a problem.

Hey - for future reference, if you ever want to make a gluten free pasta dish - Tinkyada noodles...you can actually find them in most any grocery store, though Valley Natural Foods has the greatest number of types of pasta produced by Tinkyada.

Oh, and I was sorry to have missed you, too, especially because you're the hardest one to see from your house.

And you are certainly allowed to get groceries and haircuts with impunity. Sheesh.

Yes, to all of that. My season 2 DVD's just came from Netflix, and I'm planning an all-nighter. *fangirl squee*

Wait. Maybe that's not what I meant.

Geez! You can take the girl out of burlesque but not the burlesque out of the girl. :-)
