I should mention that we're not going to Bodeguita del Medio for dinner tonight. We're going to the Gordon Biersch in Palo Alto, 640 Emerson, so if you've changed your mind and are intending to drop in, that's where you should drop. Somewhat less interesting, but infinitely more willing to seat us: Bodeguita flatly refused on a party of that size. So okay then; they can be lunch, probably. That seems like a thing.

It's snowing without me again at home. My folks are making eyebrows at me for asking for all this snow and then leaving. I know there'll be some left when we get back, but it's just not the same as being there when it's falling. Sigh. Well, the basketball tournaments aren't over yet. I will comfort myself with that thought: until the high school boys have played their basketball tournament, snow is not over in Minnesota, and may not be afterwards. There's a happy thought for my rainy Palo Alto morning.

That's right *nods* we haven't yet had our NCAA tournament snow yet! And I refuse to believe that this is it, albeit early. Darnit. We've had too little snow this year. We're at a 20" deficit. And while I'm a little annoyed that we're playing catchup in one week, we're due!!!!

We had snow falling in Redmond last night, maybe a couple of inches. Must say, I'm totally done with the snowing thing. It's March. There were sad, wilty little yellow daffodils sticking up out of the snow banks. It's just wrong.

It is March, which means we're due for some more snow.

Also we have really been in a drought back home this year. It's depressing.

I love the beer and food at Gordon Biersch. Wish I could be there. Will be home with J-dog helping him stay calm and continue his recovery process.

Really sorry you're missing the snow, it's a doozy! My day is full of flight cancellations and irritated lawyers missing their depositions.

I had a Lemon Drop in your honor. It was tasty. Like a lemon drop, actually. (Beer and I: not so much.) Wish you could have been there, too, but it was a very good reason not to be.

([livejournal.com profile] evangoer was startled that we know each other. He will start understanding the vast social whatsit one of these days.)

I like Gordon Biersch. Not the beer so much, as I much prefer ales to lagers* but the food's consistently pretty good.

*A handicap when you're living in the Netherlands.

[livejournal.com profile] markgritter says: "This is why they built the Chunnel."

I don't drink beer at all, so I couldn't say.
