Hiding under a boat seems most Moominish, therefore obviously to be prefered, although I don't think any of the Moomins is an introvert. Snufkin probably is.

Apropos of nothing whatever in this post, I wonder if you know about Denver Fabrics (http://www.denverfabrics.com/)? I know you've been unhappy with fabric choices in the brick-and-mortar stores when your mom was making you clothes, but Denver Fabrics is generally quite good about having a range of plain, basic stuff without a lot of trendy crap. (And anyplace that will sell me oilcloth without the annoying fuzzy backing is my friend.) They offer swatches so you can check the color and hand before committing to buy a lot of yardage, and their prices are generally quite good.

Lovely, thanks!

I think we need WWMD bracelets, except that someone would probably think it meant, "What weapons of mass destruction?" rather than "What would Moomins do?"

I like the idea of "What Would Moomin Do?" logo-wear very much.

And if we put a Moomin next to the letters, it would be more obvious, maybe.

you say that like it's a bad thing...

It is a far more temporally limited phenomenon than Moomins. Moomins are forever.

Where does one find a basket made out of cheese?

Pazzaluna in downtown St. Paul. If someone came to visit, they might get to go there.

*sigh* Oh, for the basket of cheeeeeeese.

I want to eat a basket of cheese. Is it woven out of string cheese, or is it otherwise shaped?

or are we talking "basket cheese"?

Cheeeeese.....Mmmm, cheese....

They take a bunch of parmesan (shredded) and fling it at a skillet for just the right amount of time and then shape it over a bowl. It is Very Good, crunchy in spots and soft in spots and just the thing to hold risotto.

I refuse to answer the first question, as I think you capable of almost anything.

re: my "other" vote for question two, I think sticking to one POV is generally a good idea. Ditto that for the beginnings of things, whether or not the reader will get to the end in the (hopefully shortish) time allowed.

Ah, but it's not what I'm capable of, it's what I'm doing.

Yes. But it makes it harder to rule things out.

My vote for #2 is "all of the above, provided it is written by a mrissa."

Wow, and I thought I had been/will be crazy busy for the past/next week, but I got nothing on you.

I checked all of the fiction boxes because you didn't provide "all of the above".

I can't answer the first question. I can see you doing all of them in the next fortnight.

Wait...you forgot the word 'no' again didn't you?

I would not have asked the first question without "none of the above; she is doing all of them" if there was not at least one item on the list I will not be doing in the next fortnight.

N...o? Which one is that?

Your list is missing "pick Mark up from the airport", though if you're especially overwhelmed I can take a cab.

Not even close to that overwhelmed. Of course.

There are all sorts of things my list is missing that will still get done in the next fortnight, I'm afraid. (In some cases less afraid than pleased, also of course.)

I think that things to be read to people ought to be things that sound good out loud (that is, things that allow you to breathe in more or less the right places and do not contain anything unpronounceable by the reader). I've been quite surprised by how difficult some books are to read out loud, including books I've been reading silently since I was about seven. But that's all a bit obvious, really.
