We used to mock my mother about this, that she would get to Albert Lea (= 10 miles inside the border) and sound like she'd been living in the Boundary Waters for a decade. Then my dad and I realized that we had not, between us, a leg to stand on. So.

This was an example of the niftiness of technology to overcome, or at least ameliorate, distance. I got to hear your voice! I'm very verbally and audio-oriented, so that was a real treat. I read your posts regularly and always wish I made more time to reply. But neatness.

(At a friend's, watching the Alabama football game, or well being not as social as I should be, but leaving the computer soon to watch the screen in mystification. Not a sports fan.)
